TE Tips: Do Your Friends Improve Your Attitude?

Your attitude plays a huge role in the quality of your life.  Have you ever taken the time to consider the impact those closest to you have on your attitude?  Today I want to challenge you to think about how those around you impact your attitude. Tim Ferriss, author of The 4-Hour Workweek (http://fourhourworkweek.com/blog/) says “you are the average of the five people you associate with most, so do not underestimate the effects of your pessimistic, unambitious, or disorganized friends. If someone isn't making you stronger, they're making you weaker.” Prior to reading The 4-Hour Workweek I had never considered [...]

Three Strategies to Improve Your Self Talk

Today's post is on strategies to improve your self talk.  The format is a little different as I decided to create a video instead of typing out the post.

Recently someone suggested to me that I should be the focus of a Teacher Entrepreneur Profile.  At first I thought this was kind of a crazy idea, but then I started to think that it might help my readers get to know me better.  The more I thought about it, the more I thought it made some sense, so here goes.  Instead of posting it in the usual interview format I have just posted it as a series of questions and answers.
What is the name of your business and where is it located?

Do You Have a Mindset of Abundance?

Do you have a mindset of abundance?  Are you thankful for the many blessings in your life?  Many people think of abundance in terms of material possessions but the truth is, abundance is so much more.   Your mindset, has an impact on your relationships, your physical and emotional well-being and your future.  An abundance mindset can significantly improve your life.

Stephen Covey talked about the Scarcity and Abundance Mindsets in The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.  Here is what he had to say:

Most people are deeply scripted in what I call the Scarcity Mentality. They see life as having [...]

TE Tips: What Wage Are You Asking of Life?

This month we’re talking about the importance of attitude.  One of the things that made a huge difference in my life was adopting an abundance mindset.  The typical financial advice you get from most people goes like this…”live below your means”.  Robert Kiyosaki author of Rich Dad Poor Dad http://www.richdad.com has a different take on it.  He says,“Rather than live below your means…you can expand your means and go for your dreams.”

Understanding this and believing I could expand my means is when my life began to change.  I began to see opportunities that I would have missed before.  I focused on [...]

Do You Need An Attitude Adjustment?

As I was preparing for this post I came across a great article called “Why Your Attitude is Everything” http://www.success.com/article/why-your-attitude-is-everything  by Keith Harrell.  Nothing I read in the article was really new information but there were several great reminders of things that I am aware of, but often don’t spend enough time thinking about.  The article helped me, so I thought I would share some of my take-aways in the hopes that they help you.

There is some irony in my post this morning.  As I am writing about the importance of having a great attitude, the truth is that I [...]
