“Every person is composed of a few themes.” CS Lewis
This is one of the many quotes that John Maxwell shares in 3 Things Successful People Do. Maxwell then goes on to say “As you develop yourself, you should identify and concentrate on the few themes at the heart of who you are.”
My question for you today is; What are your themes? Have you ever taken the time to think about them? I’ll bet you have an idea what they are. Did you make a conscious decision about what they would be or did they just kind of happen? Are you happy with them?
I had to stop and think about mine. I know what I want them to be, but is that what they really are? Then I wondered if others could identify them in me? Can you tell I’m writing this on my birthday. I think I’m a little more reflective today because I’m turning 44 and realize every day how quickly the time is passing.
Do me a favor. Take 5 minutes and think about your themes. Think about what they really are and consider if they are what you want them to be. If so, congratulations! If not, take a minute and think about what you would like them to be and how you can change them. Then if you’re feeling really brave, please share them in the comments below.
